Karen Lowe, DNP
Karen Lowe, DNP, APN-C, RNC-Ob, CGRA, is a nurse practitioner with CentraState Medical Center, part of Atlantic Medical Group and Atlantic Health System. She specializes in women’s health issues and the high- risk breast program. Karen provides full scope women’s health care throughout a woman’s lifespan, from puberty to postmenopausal. She performs in-office breast and gynecological exams, procedures including IUD insertion, endometrial biopsies, vulvar biopsies, incision and drainage of abscesses, as well as routine obstetrical care throughout the course of pregnancy and postpartum. She treats menstrual disorders and menopausal symptoms.
Karen earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Misericordia University in Dallas, PA. Previously, she completed a master’s degree in Nursing and Family Health, NP Track, at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ, graduating as a family health nurse practitioner, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Kean University in Union, NJ. She earned Cancer Genetic Risk Assessment certification from the National Consortium of Breast Centers and is one of only a few providers who hold that CGRA certification.
Prior to joining CentraState, she served as an advanced practice women’s health nurse, handling all routine obstetric and gynecological cases, as well as high-risk labor and delivery, coordination and care of surgical oncology patients and their post-op care, and genetics case management.
Karen is a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses; American Association of Nurse Practitioners; National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health; National Consortium of Breast Centers; and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
